Triple J Unearthed Winners Showcase

Music video launch + Q&A with NIDA Film Directors

Rosie Catalano and JuliaWhy?, winners of this year’s triple j Unearthed NIDA competition, have joined forces to officially launch their brand new music videos for ‘Hearts’ and ‘Just One Night.’

Both clips will be premiered on ABC’s RAGE on September 27. Following this, punters will have the chance to see both of these emerging artists perform live at The Vanguard in Newtown on Wednesday, October 8.

Gareth Evans, Editor of Australian music blog Timber & Steel, will facilitate a live Q&A with film directors and designers from the National Institute of Dramatic Art, who’ll share tips and tricks from ‘the making of’ both music videos. ‘Just One Night’ and ‘Hearts’ will then be shown on the large screen at the end of the night.

Tickets start from $15.80 and can be purchased online via The Vanguard website here. Join the Facebook event here.

New EP ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’ Out Now

Rosie Catalano’s sophomore EP, ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’ (ABC 702 Album of the Week) is out now and available to stream and download on Bandcamp.

What people are saying about it:

“These seven songs are beautifully homespun stories: the defiant This Town, the sinister Stitch You Up or Hope To Never Say Never which should deliver a heart-wrenching credits roll. As well titled this EP may be, its cinematic beauty is refreshingly humbly produced.”
– Mac McNaughton, The Music
“Catalano conveys understated emotion through her voice as it melts into gentle acoustic songs, carrying their melodies effortlessly.”
– Stephanie Tell, The Music
“Catalano has a talent that most singer/songwriters constantly strive for but only a small few achieve: the ability to draw the listener into her story.”
– indie shuffle
