ROSIE CATALANO ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE EP, ‘DREAMS ARE JUST MOVIES’ + EAST COAST TOUR

“Gorgeous stuff!”

– Sarah Howells, Triple J

Rosie Catalano’s sophomore EP, ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’, is a testament to the Sydney-based chanteuse and her beautiful brand of storytelling. Her hauntingly ethereal imagery is winning the leading lady a fast-growing fanbase on the back of her debut single, Hearts featuring local singer/songwriter Jack Carty. The track, which reached #9 on Triple J Unearthed chart has received glowing reviews and is available for free download for a limited time.

Her highly anticipated forthcoming EP, ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’ is set to be released on 1st October, featuring collaborations with some of the country’s most talented musicians. These 7 tracks take the listener on a journey through found love, lost love and the bits that happen in between. With the help of Jack Carty, Brendan Maclean (Triple J, The Great Gatsby), Brian Campeau (The Rescue Ships), Evan Mannell (Bertie Blackman) and Veronique Serret (Joanna Newsom) as well as production assistance from Sarah McCallum (aka Miss Little), the EP is set to be her most intricate and unique yet.

In 2009, Rosie collaborated with swooning pop sensations, Little Birdy, as part of a song competition to create ‘Where Did I Go Wrong?” – a single that helped launched Rosie’s career, culminating in reaching the coveted spot of an ABC Radio National’s ‘Album of the Week’. This garnered a slew of high rotation radioplay across the country, as well as propelling her to become a finalist for APRA’s Professional Development Award in 2011.

Don’t miss these two Rose’s on the road, as Rosie Catalano joins forces with Melbourne-based Rose Wintergreen, who was recently a finalist in the Vanda & Young songwriting competition.

ROSIE CATALANO WINS HEARTS WITH FREE NEW SINGLE + ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE EP

“Her sugar-syrup vocals and rolling finger-picked guitar melodies made us sigh deeply before breathing in the fresh air of new music that comes without pretense or one-uppery.”
Frankie Magazine

Rosie Catalano is more than a sum of her parts.  The Sydney-based chanteuse is a raconteur, whose emphasis on narrative and character, provides a colourful and cinematic quality to her music.

The first song off of her sophomore EP, titled Hearts, is testament to her beautiful brand of storytelling.  Unique in its creation, Hearts was written as a reward for a pledger who supported her Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign back in 2010 to help fund her debut EP.  You can download Hearts for FREE for a limited time.

With the help of poignant producer Sarah McCallum (aka Miss Little), Rosie was able to put flesh on the bare bones of what would become her debut single.  Since all love stories require two to tango, it was enlisting the help of singer/songwriter Jack Carty that allowed the heart in Hearts to beat.

In ‘09, Rosie won a song competition offered by indie-pop darlings, Little Birdy.  The result was a collaboration with the band on an original song “Where Did I Go Wrong?”.  Rosie quickly went on to nab herself the coveted ‘Album of the Week’ slot on ABC Radio National, garnering a slew of high rotation radioplay across the country, as well as securing herself as a finalist for APRA’s Professional Development Award in 2011.

Rosie is set to release her crowd-funded EP, ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’ which is slated to hit shelves this October.  The EP features a pool of unfairly talented guest musicians including Jack Carty, Brendan Maclean (Triple J, The Great Gatsby), Brian Campeau (The Rescue Ships), Evan Mannell (Bertie Blackman) and Veronique Serret (Joanna Newsom).
